ALL EMPLOYEES : CENTRAL BUCKS SCHOOL DISTRICT 
 
FLEXIBLE BENEFITS
 
·         Effective dates:
         o    Teachers/Administrators – first day of service
         o    Support/Transportation – 1st of the month following 30 days of  service
·         Coordination of benefits with any alternate coverage currently in effect;
·         Eligibility includes spouse and children to age 26 
·         Yearly option to change plans during Open Enrollment period
 
A.      Health and Hospitalization Insurance:
 
              1.       Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) Option:  “Central Bucks Choice” self-insured plan.  In-                   network benefit includes $15 PCP & $25 specialist co-pay and wellness care. 
 
              2.       HMO Option:  Aetna self-insured plan.  Mandatory use of network physician and facilities – no out-of-                   network benefits available.  Benefits include $5 PCP/$10 specialist co-pay, wellness and eye care.
 
B.      Dental Insurance:   Delta Dental of Pennsylvania.  $2,000 per year maximum benefit.
 
C.      Prescription Drug:  Teachers & Administrators: $10 generic/$25 preferred brand/$45 non-preferred brand,
     plus $50 pp/py deductible; plan limits payment to cost of generic equivalent if one exists. Support and  
     Transportation : $10/$20/$35, no deductible. 
 
D.      Life Insurance:  Administrators: Based on 2 times employee’s annual salary rate.  Double coverage for
     accidental death.  Optional $50,000 supplemental coverage.  All other employees:  1.5 X salary; no option for
     supplemental coverage.
 
E.       Short Term Disability: (income protection) Provides 2/3 of weekly salary for a maximum of 52 weeks
 
F.  Long Term Disability:  Optional program funded through payroll deductions; premium based on age and salary.
     Provides 60% of weekly salary until age 65.
 
G.  Flexible Spending Accounts:  (Section 125 Plan)  Optional, tax-free accounts, funded via payroll deductions,
     may be established for:
             a.       Medical expenses ($2,000/year maximum)
             b.       Dependent Care ($5,000/year maximum)
 

RETIREMENT

·         Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS)
     New PSERS members on or after July 1, 2011: 7.5% - 12.3% mandatory payroll deduction depending on class 
     election; district and state also contribute to fund the system
·         403b (supplemental) plans available via payroll reduction
 
MISCELLEANOUS
·         BEACON – Bucks Employee Assistance Consortium.  Available (at no cost) to all employees and their 
     dependents. 24-hour helpline available.
·         Generous Holiday/Vacation/Sick Leave/ plan
·         Teachers and Administrators: Tuition Reimbursement for courses related to present assignment or future
     development.  No tuition reimbursement for support and transportation staff.
·         Membership fees paid for approved professional organizations.
